Morrisville Youth Basketball was formed in 2008 for the purpose of offering organized recreational basketball to the youth of Morrisville.  Within the first winter of inception, students in grades K-6 were exposed to game of basketball in the form of skills, drills and inter-league competition.  As the program took off in year one, it was decided that any student in grades 3-6 would get the opportunity to further their skills against teams from local towns around Morrisville.  This branching out has been instrumental toward the development of our players.  We were also very fortunate to be invited to the Cambridge Tournament for 5th and 6th graders at the conclusion of the 2009-2010 season.  We later found out that it has been years since Morrisville has sent any teams to this local tourney.

Giving Back:

MWYB has been fortunate to have many adult volunteers step forward and help organize and coach at all levels.  Our coaches donate a great amount of time and effort to offer a quality program, and for that we are thankful.  We are also very pleased to continue to have high school students from the Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball programs return on a weekly basis to give back to the place where basketball started for them.  This connection that is being developed between these high school students and our youth is second to none.  Because of this relationship, more interest has been devoted to the following of our high school teams throughout the winter and has brought a sense of basketball back to our community.

Feeder Programs:

The long term goal of this program is to continue to offer a basketball experience that is top quality and is regarded as a feeder program to our middle and high school programs.  With only a couple of years under our belt, we can already see an increase in skill level and love for the passion of the game growing.  This growth will eventually trickle into our middle and high school level programs.
